Rearranging Words
Mengurutkan kata menjadi kalimat yang bermakna tidaklah sulit. Perhatikan hal-hal berikut untuk megurutkan kata-kata acak menjadi kalimat yang bermakna.
- Perhatikan struktur kalimat, apakah kalimat positif, kalimat negative, atau kalimat Tanya.
- Carilah subjek kalimat. Subjek kalimat biasanya berupa kata benda. Kalau kalimat tersebut tidak memiliki kata benda sebagai subjek, subjek kalimat mungkin berupa kata kerja (kalimat perintah ) atau to be (kalimat Tanya).
- Cari verb (kata kerja) kalimat tersebut. Perhatikan tenses yang di gunakan.
- Temukan objek berbentuk noun (apabila ada) perhatikan juga artikel/determiner yang digunakan mengawali noun tersebut, misalnya ‘a’ atau ‘the’
- Temukan kata keterangan waktu apabila ada.
- Mulailah mengurutkan kata-kata tersebut menjadi kalimat yang bermakna sesuai analisis kalian.

Rearranging Sentences
Mengurutkan kalimat acak menjadi paragraf yang padu/koheren bukanlah sesuatu hal yang sulit, tetapi kalian harus jeli mengamati dan memahami makna setiap kalimat. Perhatikan hal-hal berikut untuk mengurutkan kalimat-kalimat acak menjadi paragraph/teks yang koheren.
- Tentukan kalimat pendahuluan yang menjelaskan tentang topic/hal yang dibahas, biasanya menyebutkan nama orang/benda/hal yang akan di bahas.
- Perhatikan konjungsi/kata hubung. Kata hubung biasanya menghubungkan dua peristiwa/hal yang berurutan.
- Untuk teks recount dan narrative, perhatikan keterangan waktu karena kata ini menunjukkan urutan peristiwa.
- Untuk teks descriptive, report, dan Perhatikan pengulangan kata di kalimat berikutnya untuk menunjukkan adanya kaitan atau memberi keterangan kalimat sebelumnya.
- Perhatikan kalimat penutup. Dalam teks narrative bagian penutup berupa resolusi (penyelesaian masalah), teks recount berupa pernyataan akhir penulis tentang peristiwa yang dialami, dan teks procedure tentang hasil dari langkah-langkah yang telah dikerjakan, atau langkah terakhir prosedur tersebut (dapat diawali dengan kata hubung finally atau lastly).
